of Minutemen
A play
on the moniker "Minutemen" from the American
revolution plus the set of environmentally conscious
tenets used by this group
of performers in the Viridian REVELution
"Reformance Art"
project through which they seek to transform the American
consumer culture to one that supports conscious consumption
behaviors in the marketplace. + their
quest to move the United States into a renewable
& sustainables based market economy that more fully
supports the founding tenets of the American Revolution:
("Life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness").

Viridian REVELution

viridian + revel + revolution + reveal + evolution
1. the
body of art work I seek to enact for non-violent social
advancement to amalgamate theories of quantum mechanics
related to the effects human consciousness may have
on humanity's collective conscience (i.e. 'noosphere'
)
& the material world. To participate in this REVELution
is to integrate the concepts & practices set forth
in its Charter & behave
& feel as if all the advancement we are working
toward has already been accomplished in the realm of
possibilities for our future existence. This is the
reason for revelry that helps fuel the REFORMance
Art happenings. 2. The REVELution
is an artform intended toward conscious & sociological
evolution by way of symbiotic integrations of humankind's
infrastructures with the biosphere.
Reveal is also a root word because although
I've always been interested
in these issues, this project feels as though it
is coming through in revelations that have much to do
with my
near death experience.
Viridian is a color that is a mix of green
& blue hues that is sometimes described as ultra
green-blue. I picked Viridian to be the name of this
REVELution because although my environmental awareness
motives have much in common with movements that have
been called 'green', I want to break with many of the
hippy-like connotations that have been associated with
past environmental movements & give this one a new
label. This movement is ultra-green in that it is intended
to be pro-active & have more in common with cyberpunks
than hippies in terms of it's push toward higher, smarter
technology & drug free, straight-edge particicreators.
"Viridian" also rhymes with "American"
& contains the same number of syllables. More substance
on the Viridian REVELution is in the
charter.
